hey!! I am good-I forgot all about this page:( until I saw your comment in my email!! I haven't done much in my art journal or altered books, but I will soon-just seems I get obsessed with every new thing I try (right now it's mostly watercolor pencils, and now my new oil pastels-plus doing allot of drawing practice)
good to hear from you-how are you doing? I am loving your slideshow -makes me want to start altering a book now-how did you make the jewelry? love them!!
She actually lives in the 'burbs, too, in Upper Arlington. She's very creative, but not a working artist. She teaches tai chi and is a mom of 2. Keep me posted if you do show in the area! I'll let you know if I visit her (no plans in near future), and maybe we can meet for coffee/tea and do an in person book art show and tell :-)
Thank you Jennifer,
I really love your work - rich, textured, and truly inspiring!! your books are beautiful. Are you showing your work anywhere in Columbus? My sister lives there, and I know she would love it, too!
Thanks for your interest - you can find an own album for book pages on my Flickr site, or you can see them on my blog by using the tag called "Journals and Altered Books". I think I´ll load up all upcoming pages to this site.
Jennifer, I wonder if you can help me!! I went to work some more on my book, but when i opened it all the pages stuck together and everything tore off:( I am so disappointed!~but not going to dwell on it. before I start over with another book, what did I do wrong? I used scrap paper, magazine cutouts, some stickers and rubons...acrylic craft paints (and I let the book dry for couple days b4 closing it) but I did seal it all with mod podge -is that the problem? i like the glossy look it gave to it, is there something different to use? well, I appreciate any help you can give so much!!! thanks:) have a great day
hi !! I am in Meigs County,I didn't realize you were in Ohio too, I must have missed that-I love your work and look forward to growing creatively and opening my etsy shop soon (I was going to wait until I got "better" but I want to start now!) I look forward to chatting with you again - have a good day :)
Hey I am up and running, you are awsome and so is all your work on here! I am glad that you sent me the link, Kellie might have but she sends me a lot of fun stuff and I am not always sure what to go ahead with. This place is GREAT!
Jennifer, thanks for your nice comments on my page. Since I love your art too - perhaps we could do a mini-book exchange somewhere in September?
best, Annie
I keep meeting wonderful people on line from Ohio and none of them are anywhere around... here... North Canton. I thought I would have tons of time for art here at the homestead, but the folks are taking WAY more attention than I dreamed!
Jenn, I have several of those old NG, too, and have a small file of their maps.........I have so much stash..it should be embarassing! My bedroom is still not re-organized from the switch with the art room. I'm trying not to sign up for other swaps right now so I can get to that room and get things that need to be in the art room in there and things that need to go on my scrapbooking table in the bedroom.......also trying to clear a spot for a chair, reading lamp and small table...................................dream, dream, dream...........
YEA!!!!!!!!!!! So glad for you, Jenn!! My kiddos were so excited on the last day of school.........we went straight to town for extra large root beers! I substitute teach at their school (homeschooled 17yrs and taught PreK 4-5s for 5 yrs at a private school here).........this way I can be home in the summer for them. Rachel has to work and she has the boys every other week, and Jason and Ru travel to sing so much in the summer that I like to be available for my gkids. ") It gets tiring, but I love to watch them growing up and settling into their own character and also watching their creativity....Emma (8) (the one and only Princess of the group!) is so artistically inclined.....she can really give me some great ideas when we're in the studio together....and little brother Mason (3) has come up with some great cut out.....he cut a big circle out of red paper and then 4-5 long pieces....he taped them together and gave them to me "here's a octopus for you, Nana"! Ah, how can you resist that?! He had me to put a string on it so I could hang it in my room...........looked pretty darn good. Dillon (11) is always writing stories.......he has chapters and usually ends each one with something that will draw you into the next.........I love it! Then there's Cody (7) .........little dare devil of the group........never know what he's going to trying or where! Well, that enough gloating for now....................LOL
