Thanks for the welcome, I love that INXS album too. And I was reading one of your old questions on feeling unsuccessful about a page and I find if it really sucked (which yours didn't on so many levels) to write a big black NO across it, is really cathartic!;)
I came across it on a blog. I think it looks cool. I'd like to join in on one of the projects. But you're close enough to not only join.....but to go see the installation. ;-) Oh I I wish there were something like that around here.
Alicia, I was so inspired by the pages I saw there (John Buckman's blog). This is something that I've always wanted to do and have just never took time out to do it. I have even saved some books for the journal. One of my dearest artist friends (Sara Hanlon.....out of this world book maker and calligrapher) has made several books for me, so I'm using one of the first she ever gave me. I'm almost to the point that I don't want to do any swaps (yikes!) and just want to start with the journal. I had seen John's site posted in several places and then when you and Renna (?) both posted it, I just had to check it out!
Hi Alicia - I don't know much about Blog etiquette, as I've never done one. You have my permission for the cover and to take a pic of the book as a whole, though.
Yeah Alicia & thanks for the blog love- I'll check it out this afternoon (I've already had the "remember what you're supposed to do today" phone call, so I should go DO it! And yes, everyone is welcome here, they don't have to be a member of the yahoo group, this will be separate ;-)
So I thought I read somewhere that it's hard to play scrabble with you.....or at least that you have to count the tiles after the game.....I also remember reading that you had some drying....any pix?
that's a fun idea... i'll have to run it past my roller derby queen to see what she thinks... maybe i can make her make them! they are super cute - i'm so glad you colored outside the lines!

Alicia, hoping to get to know you through this site. I'm very impressed with your profile. You certainly are involved in many areas............exactly what do you do in "telecommunications"? I love all the photos of your art work! Very interesting..........what colorwheel group were you in? Nice wheels......
ask away, miss... i'm a teacher, y'know... someday i'll even play one on tv! ;)
can we talk about how i LOVE ROLLER QUEEN? OMG!!! Are you selling them? I need a few! Really. One of my girlfriends gives us all Roller Derby names... for instance mine is Audrey HeArtBurn... my favorite actress being Audrey Hepburn and the name of my Studio being HeArt Collective its a great name... Oh, I hope you'll be willing to make a few that I could buy from you... LMK!!
Hey!
Thanks for stopping by my page to say hi... as for the shoes... go for it! They are so much fun to work with. I don't know why I don't do it more often, but I actually have a section of my craft shop dedicated to just shoes and assemblage. On my first pair of shoes I did a Wizard of Oz theme... I papier mached the witch's shoe and red sequined the Ruby slipper. They came out so great... I have a picture of my Mom wearing them on Easter Sunday just playing around... too funny! My own feet were too big for the shoes or I'm sure I'd have had them on! The pair in my avatar were my daughter's Easter shoes - huh... apparently there is some kind of Easter theme here... any ways... I had soooo much fun messing with them!
I feel a new project around the corner... maybe we can play together!?!
