You know, that background was my first attempt at painting, would you believe it?

Yes, I was trapped in that house, or so it seemed, the moonlight was my only way out.

Thanks PJ, that means a lot!

I haven't been here in a while, life kind of took over, but I did make a lot of comments at first, and other people's comments made my day, so yes, I am going to try and get back into it. Thanks for the gentle nudge, PJ!

I just looked through your first book. Very powerful. I could do one of these on loss/grief (and I might someday) but I am very afraid of it ;) Afraid it would take me down too far. I can see how this would be healing and I congratulate you on your bravery to show it, but most especially to create it!

Hi Elizabeth, I just thought I'd let you know that I posted the piece I told you about, on the topic of child abuse, along with a little video I did. It's on my blog Beyond Words It combines a bit of my sculpture with my book work.
Take care, Karin

Clockwork

Between life and death lie the pills.
Longer lines like deeper breaths
and riverbend gradations.
Some accent of delirium,
tonality of the soul.
Precipitous thanks and lassitudes,
always mobile.

Unfortunately, this blog does not allow you to format the entry, so you'll just have to imagine indentions scattered through the poem. Even so, I hope you enjoy it. If you do, I'll add others.

Altered abuse book

Hi everyone,

I've posted an altered book I did about child abuse. Be forewarned that there is sensitive material. It is my first altered book, and I loved every minute of it. It really helped me process, and so was in some ways a therapeutic tool. It's very personal, but I feel safe sharing it with you all here. Let me know what you think!
