Thank you for looking! It is amazing how empowering the whole process was. I finally felt like I had some control. I am getting ready to do a new one on madness and mental illness.

LOL- The etched metal isn't for a swap (well maybe because one of my groups just announced an earrings swap), but for some jewelry that I'm making. Which plated did you get? And did you tell them that BookArtz sent ya? ;-)

Thank you! I made it last night after a crying session. I really love it visually. The symbolism is great. Standing alone, looking at your feet in the mud because our journey has been so long and filled with all kinds of ups & downs....and the mud is the only color except her. I love it. I am so proud of that page because it was for her. Thanks for commenting on it and having good words about about it...I wasn't sure if I was just "bias"!

Collage For A Cure - Memory Walk 2008

My wonderful and amazing mother-in-law Phyllis has Alzheimer's.

My mom’s company is a part of the Memory Walk 2008. My mom’s name is Sharon. We (me and my mom) are walking in this walk for my mother-in-law.

My mother-in-law and mom are pictured here together lighting the candles at my wedding. Phyllis is on the left and my mom Sharon is on the right.

My mom told me I needed to earn money by way of donations for my walk participation. Hmm me, earn money? LOL. I spend money no problem. So that… Continue

A Soul Journey: My first art journal

Lately I have been obsessed with my art journal. I have wanted to work in an art journal for a while now but never could seem to get started. Then a great artist by the name of Sarah Whitmire posted a challenge on her blog that I happened upon. This challenge is really a daily prompt to create a spread in a journal. So far there isn't a LOT of journaling but I am guessing we will get to that eventually.

This has been a real blast and if any of you have been thinking of doing an art journal this… Continue

Hey An Advertiser And My Ramblings

I haven't been to the site in a few days... I've been cramming trying to get some art commitments completed. Good thing too as I tried to cut off my finger today and am now a bit handicapped until this big cut on my index finger heals.

Anyway, I logged in and saw the cute little button for 'Art Stamps, Layers of Color' and loved the look so decided to click on through.

Wow, I love the signature stamps a lot. There are two sets I plan to get (Friday is payday). I thought, "Wow, how cool to find… Continue

Altered Book : How To Raise A Lady

I am working on an altered book that is just for me. Other than an 'experimenting' book I haven't created an altered book that was just personal, just for me. This one is about my daughter since she is my pride and joy and the title of the book was perfect. I originally started a book for her but it ended up being more of a practice/experiment book instead. So this one is 'really' just for her. I have two spreads completed and one currently in progress.

I have recently heard of a university tha… Continue

My first fan fold book

I have made my first fan fold book and am posting pictures of it to my photos in just a few minutes. I went with a theme of cards/card games and included a different game for each page. Attached to the back of each page is a tag. When opened it reveals the rules for the chosen game. This will probably end up as a gift for my daughter (as she has already asked for it). I have to watch her though because she asks for every project and then no one else in the family gets any. It's good that she lik… Continue
