Thanks for the welcome, I love that INXS album too. And I was reading one of your old questions on feeling unsuccessful about a page and I find if it really sucked (which yours didn't on so many levels) to write a big black NO across it, is really cathartic!;)

I came across it on a blog. I think it looks cool. I'd like to join in on one of the projects. But you're close enough to not only join.....but to go see the installation. ;-) Oh I I wish there were something like that around here.

I visited the link for the steampunk idea and left a comment. Just remember, I know NOTHING and thus am allowed to make really dumb assumptions ;)

Alicia, I was so inspired by the pages I saw there (John Buckman's blog). This is something that I've always wanted to do and have just never took time out to do it. I have even saved some books for the journal. One of my dearest artist friends (Sara Hanlon.....out of this world book maker and calligrapher) has made several books for me, so I'm using one of the first she ever gave me. I'm almost to the point that I don't want to do any swaps (yikes!) and just want to start with the journal. I had seen John's site posted in several places and then when you and Renna (?) both posted it, I just had to check it out!

Hi Alicia - I don't know much about Blog etiquette, as I've never done one. You have my permission for the cover and to take a pic of the book as a whole, though.

Yeah Alicia & thanks for the blog love- I'll check it out this afternoon (I've already had the "remember what you're supposed to do today" phone call, so I should go DO it! And yes, everyone is welcome here, they don't have to be a member of the yahoo group, this will be separate ;-)

hi alicia and thank you for the welcome!

Profile Information

About Me:
I work in telecommunications and enjoy traveling, reading, and making things. I am a fanatic of all things Disney. My office walls are adorned with vintage attraction posters from the parks. One of my bucket list items is to visit each of the Disney resorts. So far I've been to Orlando, Anaheim and Paris. Three down, two to go.
Where I'm from:
Atlanta, GA USA
About my Art:
I'm a relatively new artist who enjoys playing in fused glass, mosaic tile work and altered books. If I had a clue about how to sew I would love to get into costuming. I've done a little of it, but pretty much "costuming lite" so far.

Check out my blog for some pictures of things I've made: http://aliciascolors.wordpress.com/

I recently took the Etsy plunge and opened a shop:

Where am I going?
To the mailbox or possibly to the post office if it's a really exciting day.

This just makes me smile...

For an art journal with a theme of fetish, I made this corset out of vinyl. The ruffle is pink duct tape and the lace is neon pink yarn.

Classes?

So it seems I have an airline ticket I need to use and it occurred to me it might be a good opportunity to take a class or attend a workshop. I've just found the info for Art Unraveled and I'm not far enough into it yet to know if it's too late or not. Are there other classes or workshops you know of that I might consider? I'd like to do something before the end of the year.

Thanks!

Is it me...?

Or is it really quiet on the interwebs? Not only here, but most of my mailing lists are quiet. Are y'all all at some big art thing I didn't get the memo for?

Question for y'all

Okay, here's a question for y'all. How do you deal with that idea that you had and you just couldn't pull off? Maybe you ended up doing a "lesser" version? One of my 4 X 4 song lyrics pages, actually it was the first one I made because I'd been plotting and scheming on how to make it - came out this way.

(I am a child of the 80s, so you've been warned.) If you aren't familiar with the song by INXS called Mediate, you can see the video on You… Continue
