Copper Manuscript of the Hill People of Frisland

Inside spread. The interior of the book is filled with calligraphy--written with a reed pen using hand-made pigments. It might be the result of a non-literate people imitating manuscripts, or it might be a secret code. The moth is a small intaglio print, hand-coloured (it's a book moth from the library of the Pansophic University of Laputa).

Hey, thanks!. You know, I can't remember what paper it is. It's a green Japanese paper. Might be kozuke, but I'm not sure. I'll have to check next time I'm in the art supply store.
