I am so in awe of so many other artists works. And lately I can't stop buying and looking at books about these artists. The last 2 I bought were of nature artist Andy Goldsworthy. Oh my gosh! AMAZING! I also am completely inspired by the book artists in the book 1,000 Artistic Journals and the color works by Wolf Kahn. Who gets you going?????? :-)

You know, the 1000 Journals project has been highlighted in a documentary that is screening here in Atlanta in a couple of weeks. (Sorry if I've already posted about this. I'm sleep deprived.) There are other screenings around the country, too, so you may want to check out the locations. (I think it's 1000journalsfilm.com.) If anyone is in the Atlanta area and wants to attend, it's 22 Aug 08 and I will be there with some of my journals. I hadn't seen the book yet, so I picked up a copy and I love it. The stitched pages add so much to it.

One artist that inspires me is Teesha Moore. Her use of bright color really sings to me. Sometimes I look at the thumbnail collection in her gallery just to see the bright colors.

Also, I recently ran across another glass artist who is making the kind of glass that made me want to learn how. It was a nice wake up call and she has a great sense of whimsical fun in her work. Deb DiSalvo is the artist and her blog is http://artisticflairbydebdisalvo.blogspot.com/.

I am published in the 1,000 Artistic Journals! I feel honoredby that! I wish I could go to that on Atlanta...and there is also a convention in CA. My job & $ prohibit me right now though. I am bummed.Iabsolutely LOVE that book though! I will have to look up Teesha Moore.
I just started working in glass too. (We have so much in common!) I started doing moasaic indows. I completely love it...more than I thought I would even! :-)

Oh, wow. You're in the book! Can you give me a hint as to where to look? I did look for names on the entries and even spotted one from a local artist. :)

Have you posted pics of any of your mosaic work? I'd love to see.

I am on page 147. It's an altered book about being a mom and now looking at my own mom sooooo differently. It was a great book to do and I am very happy with the results.
I posted a picture of a just started window with stained glass mosaic on bookartz.com, but I still need to take an almost finished picture and post it. It looks soooo different now.

I found this woman yesterday and think what she's doing is incredible.

I do like Andy Goldsworthy lots and have loved Alexander Calder since sometime in the 80's when I had the opportunity to experience his artwork firsthand.

Kandinski, Degas, Cezanne. the Ukiyo-e period of Japanese art. Joseph Cornell. Georgia O'Keeffe. Man Ray. Egon Schiele. Just to name a few.

I found a digital artist on Flickr whose work I greatly admire. Here's his link...

If you do digital art at all, he has scads of layers that he's posted for people to snag and use.

Mostly, I find what people do inspiring. You know, people like us. People who join yahoo groups and post their artwork and want to trade and learn and experience. I find that inspiring.

Wow, Lisa Kokin's work is awesome. The image she has under Sculptures is just grabbing me. I've been looking at it for several minutes now.

Hi Jennifer...well I am always(always) inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe and Fredia Kahlo...but for mixed media I can depend on Sherill Kahn or Lynne Perrelle or Julia Andrus to get me going....
