I'm trying to figure out the best way to adhere this concave glass lens to a page in a book. The book is big and it will be pretty heavy when closed. Any thoughts on how to adhere this lens in a not-so-obvious way but give it the best chance for survival? Thanks!

carve a niche to inset it? then fill the niche with diamond glaze? in any case, i'd probably try to use diamond glaze...it's one of my favorite products.

I was thinking about how I could use Diamond Glaze. It didn't occur to me to use a niche. Good idea. I'm pondering. :)

Thanks Sandi!

I've got some charms that people used diamond glaze to adhere something on & it's popped off.

But filling a niche. How about casting resin? Or do you want it to stick up/ out?

Tell me more.....my first thought was a sort of paper mache-ish bezel around it. Ya know...part on the glass & part on the page.

Okay, after thinking about this more, I don't think a niche is what I want to do. The "big picture" is an eye and the lens sits on the part of the eye that is normally black. Except here, it's the moon. I like that you can see through the lens and the pattern underneath is visible.

I can see a bezel... perhaps making it a monocle of sorts. I think I'm worries about supporting the lens from underneath so it doesn't get crushed.

I've not worked with resin at all before, but kiln casting is on my "to learn" list for glass projects. So that part sounds interesting.

I'm replying to myself again. :) I'm stalled with this. As I ran downstairs for the umpteenth time tonight to check on the kiln (is it done yet?!) I popped into the art journaling room and pondered this more. Still nothing has seemed like the right idea and I feel stuck here.

Maybe a good night's sleep will help.

Sometimes walking away from it for a while is the best thing ;-)

Left-brained me knows this and appreciates the reminder. (Left brain is whispering to me, "See? I told you so.") Right-brained me feels the loss of the momentum I'd finally gathered up to start this book.

Tomorrow is another day. :)
